Lesotho Trends Yield Zero Results on Google

How can we improve Lesotho’s Online Presence?

Many Lesotho news publishing companies are multiplying each and every month. In Lesotho, there are over 10 online news publishing sites. If you want to learn more about Lesotho, then you are welcome to visit the websites for these companies.

Before i go on with this article, i would like to ask you a question. Did you know that Lesotho trends on google yield zero (0) results on google? I am saying this because most of the online information is not owned by individual persons or companies in Lesotho. Most of the news publishing companies don’t rank on Google’s first page.

Online information about Lesotho mostly comes from the government NGO’s, parastatals, ministries and from outside companies. Apart from that, it is big companies like public eye newspaper, Lesotho Times newspaper, The Post and few others which have more to say. However, it is a small portion of companies and individuals who do publish news online.

How would you feel if somebody were to know more about your spouse than you know! That is how I feel today. I am so not feeling ok about this. Today, I am going to talk about How we can improve Lesotho’s presence online. But I must say that there are individuals out there who have done a stunning job in putting information out there.

Lesotho Online News Publishing Companies

Public Eye Newspaper

publiceye newspaper

Public Eye is the first online news platform where you can find information regarding day to day current affairs happening in Lesotho.

The aim of public eye is committed to reporting news that is accurate, free from bias, and truthful always. Public eye does its best to research and cross-check our stories. If you really want to learn about local news about Lesotho, I suggest that you visit its website on  publiceyenews.com. Public eye also has a job board whereby Basotho can explore and browse new vacancies in the country.

Lesotho Times Newspaper

Lesotho times newspaper

Lesotho Times Newspaper is the second of the biggest online news publishing companies in Lesotho. I was unable to find as to who founded this online newspaper. This company operates online and even offline, it is a news printing company just like Public eye. The two companies focus more on governmental stories, developments happening in the country, and more changes that are happening in Lesotho. You can read headlines on Lesotho times by visiting its website https://lestimes.com/.

I am not sure about the missions of public eye and Lesotho times newspapers, but I think they are more or less the same. The reason I am saying this is that their operations are similar. But that is not my focus, let me get to the next one.

Selibeng

Selibeng is one of the websites which is publishing information online in Lesotho. Selibeng is owned by my varsity mate Nvulane Nhlapho, I am not sure if he is partnering with other people. I am proud that he has started this blog and made it a phenomenal news publishing site. Selibeng unlike the above-mentioned sites, it is a bit different. It is more focused on career opportunities, advising people on which career path to take. It also publishes latest vacancies in the country. I too subscribed on selibeng website.

Selibeng nowadays is one of the go-to sites in Lesotho when it comes to up-to-date vacancies. If you are busy looking for a job, I suggest that you visit selibeng on https://selibeng.com/. Selibeng is aimed at improving young people’s ability to take their first steps towards decent work and rewarding opportunities.

Earn Online Lesotho (EOL)

Finally, I talk about my own baby; Earn Online Lesotho. Well I don’t want to waste more time in this article about how we operate. What I can tell you is that EOL offers a totally different niche from all the above mentioned sites. It is aimed at teaching people how to start an online business by starting a blog. For more information, please visit my page https://earnonlinelesotho.news.blog/about/.

The above mentioned sites are the biggest ones you will find online publishing news in Lesotho. However, there are many trending news publishing people and companies on social media. Their mistake is that, they don’t own a blog or a website. To read more on what is a blog, click how-to-make-money-online-in-lesotho

How we can improve Lesotho’s presence online?

I have already mentioned that our presence as Lesotho, is very limited online. We need to come up with ways in which we can improvise. When you try to register on some of the freelance sites, you get a message “This offer is not available in your country.” Imagine getting this message after going through tons of steps of registering. I always wondered what caused that, but now I am beginning to suspect that is because our presence online is very limited.

We can improve our online presence by:

  1. We need people to start online businesses.
  2. Start online blogs

The major thing we need to do is, research where there seems to be a problem. After that, we should come up with step by step solutions for that particular problem. Once we came up with a solution, then we should start a blog. The important part is which blogging platform will you blog on? Check that here five-easy-steps-to-starting-a-blog.

Once you made a choice as to which platform to blog on, you should start a blog. I advise you to start a WordPress blog. If you want the steps on how to start an online blog using WordPress, follow the guide here five-easy-steps-to-starting-a-blog.

Why do I need a blog?

You may ask yourself as to why you would need a blog. For starters, a blog gives you more audience than social media. You can promote your content on social media for more traffic. Having a blog will allow you to leverage more on monetizing strategies online. You can place AdSense ads on your blog and get free money from google AdSense.

Most people who are trending on social media can get sponsorship for their blog if they have one. They can do sponsorship posts and earn money from it. There are many ways in which you can monetize a blog. For more detailed article please click ways of making money online.

I want to urge all Basotho to start blogs. Not only them, but even anyone across the world whom this article might catch his or her attention. When you search for Lesotho artists, no blogs talking about them. Now I am glad to be talking about one of Lesotho’s hip-hop artists who made it to South Africa; Malome Vector. He has managed to collaborate with South African artists in his songs. Even guys like Megahertz made an appearance on South African soapy opera namely Rhythm City and Lithapo.

Blog Niches we can start

blogging ideas

I want to ask you as to why there is nobody in Lesotho running an entertainment blog which talks about Lesotho celebrities. I am even giving you niches to pursue. Instead we see people trending on social media, that is wrong, don’t just trend on social media only, trend all over the world.

I want someone to start a niche in talking about Lesotho hip-hop artists, another one talking about gospel, etc. We need to put them on the spotlight so that they can make it to America just like Nasty C did.

We need someone to talk about athletics. Are you telling me that we don’t have anyone who can break Caster Semenya’s world record in Africa? Come on good people, we have talent. It just needs spotlight and to be natured that is all. Commada Obbs, my brother, you need to start an online blog so that those artists you promote on your facebook page get international exposure. Who knows, you too might make it to broadway too.

Let me go on, how about you Love tips, what if you start a blog and give advice on how love works! It can be a form of forum so that people are able to comment on it. I think this article is getting too long, but I think one more facebook group that needs a blog is that one of National Reforms. The world needs that information in your page or group.

It is like I won’t finish, but I lastly like to urge you all to start online blogs. It is free of charge to start a blog. All you need is a cellphone or a computer, ideas to write about, and data or internet. If you feel like you want a paid blog (it is easy to monetize it) you can get it. But all in all, we need change. Lesotho won’t be changed by a foreigner but we Basotho nationals. I would be glad if you can share this article so that whoever I mentioned in this article can start his blogging journey. I need 20 people to help set up their blogs for free. Until next time, ciao!
