After Linda Ikeji graduated from the university, Linda started a media company and a modeling company. But it seems that she was struggling to progress with these two companies, that led to her abandoning them.

Linda Ikeji’s Blog

On top of that, she had a hobby blog which she kept updating on an internet café back in 2006 since smartphones were not there at the time. Even though she failed to make it in business with the mentioned businesses, she never gave up her blog. She persevered, she worked hard to keep it going.

I want you to understand something about Linda, for many years, she was blogging as a hobby; she was not getting anything from it. But she pushed hard because she had passion and love for that. She never gave up. If you want to start an online business, or any kind of business, I suggest that you take a leaf out of Linda’s book and start being persistent. It takes time to build a brand that is honored.

It is through persistence, hard work, and consistent writing that Linda became a successful blogger. If you possess those qualities, my dear friend you are the right person to start an online business. Blogging needs time, and consistency.

How Linda Ikeji makes money from her blog

I am sure endless questions are running in the back of your mind as to how she makes money. Well, because of consistent writing, she managed to attract a lot of traffic.

She monetized that traffic with google AdSense, she sells digital products, she writes sponsored posts, and she even promotes other people’s products and many other monetizing strategies.

If you want to know all about monetizing a blog, well my friend, don’t worry about that, I have you all covered. You can read all about it right here WAYS OF MAKING MONEY FROM HOME THROUGH YOUR BLOG. I wrote this article months ago but it can still teach you the ins and outs of monetizing a blog.

But one thing you should know is that you should have enough traffic to monetize. You can’t have 500 views and expect to make money. If that can happen, it would be by a miracle. But that doesn’t mean it can’t happen, I am sure it can but it will be hard!

How did she influence me?

I found out about Linda after being unemployed for 4 years after my graduation. I saw a sarcasm lately on facebook that “in Lesotho, you will be unemployed until you know nothing of what you learnt at the university”

In Lesotho, you will be unemployed until you know nothing of what you learnt at the university

When I saw that sarcasm, I felt like that particular person was insulting me. Haha…But that is one of the life challenges we come across. I found about her blog after a lot of thinking; can’t there be a way in which I can make money online? I told myself that if one African person made it, I will make it too. I told myself that, no matter how challenging it may be, I will keep pushing until I get it right. Now, here I am now narrating you this story, isn’t that wonderful!

How i found about Linda Ikeji’s blog and her bio

Paul Iwuoha

I started surfing the internet, I searched and searched. I surfed the internet for weeks without finding anything more lucrative. Then one day I stumbled upon an article written by Mr. John-Paul Iwuoha, in his article she mentioned Linda.  John-Paul Iwuoha works with entrepreneurs and investors to start-up and grow businesses in Africa.

After further reading on how a blog can be created, I started my first blog on medium.com. Poetry is my hobby, I started writing poems on medium.com, but I couldn’t succeed. If you want to read some of the poems I write, please comment below this article, I will hook you up with the best verses ever!

I then moved to blogger.com, I created a blog on it. The problem was I had no direction, I was all over the place. I wasn’t organized. That is the first mistake I made, that is why I couldn’t succeed. But I never gave up. I kept pushing, trying things here and there until I left to wordpress.com.

As of now, I am proud to tell you that I am a full time blogger on wordpress.com and I am on the road to success just like Linda Ikeji did. By month end, I will be moving to a self-hosted wordpress.org site, that is when things will start changing for me.

I want to conclude this article by thanking John-Paul Iwuoha for writing about that article where he quoted Linda’s success in blogging. I am what I am today because of that article. Please do share this article with your friends and help me reach my goal of being a successful blogger. Stay tuned to learn about other high profiled entrepreneurs. Until next time, ciao!
