Today, I fell in love with Cleaning Service business. The reason being, there is still a huge gap in this business. Many companies which offer cleaning services don’t update information on their websites.

These cleaning service companies don’t understand the advantage of updating information on their website. A website acts as a magnetic sales leading machine.  On the contrary, other companies don’t even have a website, as to how they market their businesses, I have no idea.

Cleaning service equipment needed for a successful business:

Without wasting time, let me get on to explain what all these tools are used for. I want you to make the right tool selection as you start your own cleaning business. If you fail to do the right decision, you will incur unnecessary costs, and I don’t want that. I want you to make profit.

Cleaning Mops

One day I went to visit my friend, I went to his house. When I entered his house, something caught my eyes. Can you guess what caught my eyes? Was it his beautiful big plasma screen? It was the dirt stains on the floor that caught my attention.

When I saw this, I asked him “dude, don’t you have a cleaning mop? This place doesn’t look right.”

A cleaning mop is a necessity in any cleaning business. You can’t have a cleaning business yet you don’t have a mop. Almost in all homes, there is a cleaning mop. 

When you are starting your own cleaning business, you can use a cleaning mop and a bucket, especially if you are doing house calls. But hey, hey, don’t worry about which business ideas to pursue in a cleaning service business. I am going to cover that in my upcoming articles.

Spinning Mop

You can also use a spinning mop if you are more sophisticated. However, this tool is a necessity for cleaning a large area. Despite that, you can opt for a wet mop, but it is not a must to have it. You can still run a successful cleaning business without it.

Cleaning Brushes

Have you ever come across dried stains on the floor or on shoes, or on clothes? I am talking about stains which don’t get removed using hands. 

This is where brushes come in to remove all those pig headed stains. In a case where there is hair lying on that mat, and it is difficult to remove it, you will need the help of a brush remove that hair away.

Iron Handle Brush

Iron handle brush has an identical shape to an iron that is used while ironing clothes. It does a lot of tasks like brushing unwanted hair on sofas or couch, or on clothes.

Toothbrush is used to clean surfaces where it is not possible for larger brushes to clean. For example, to clean in between thin furrows on surfaces.

You can use a toothbrush to wash shoes which belong to babies because if you use a big brush, they may end up getting torn. I don’t know if you would buy a new toothbrush for such purposes or you would rather use a worn out toothbrush.

It is recommended that people should change toothbrushes almost every three month. Instead of throwing that toothbrush away, make use of it as a tool in your cleaning service business.

Floor Cleaning Brush

Floor cleaning brush is used on non-carpet floors and walls to remove grease and grime before mopping. You can use this cleaning brush on ceramic tiles. It is used to clean hard surfaces which won’t be scratched by a brush.

But you cannot use a floor brush on sofas, it will scratch or tear them up. In fact it will ruin your furniture.

Toilet Brushes

Toilet brushes are used to clean the toilets. When you flush a toilet, you will find that there are faeces remains which are not easily moved by water.

This is where a toilet brush comes in to remove those remains manually. But it might be smelly, so be careful to wear a musk while cleaning toilets, that’s if you offer toilet cleaning services.

Bottle brushes

Bottle brushes are used to wash bottles and other dishes. Sometimes as you wash dishes, especially bottles, you will find that there are drink remains and food remains inside a bottle. You will remove those hardened remains using a bottle brush.

Cleaning Gloves

I once watched a movie whereby 2 twins were competing on dirtying their cars. A Cinderella story is the name of that movie. They did that to get the attention of the football captain at their school. His family owned a car wash, and he used to work there on weekends. You should watch that movie when you have time.

You will be surprised to see how some people can get messy. If you are in a cleaning business, you should practice good hygiene. You should use cleaning gloves while doing business calls.

Some people are sick, and you don’t want to get contaminated with whatever disease they may have. Gloves protect you from all that. You can either buy one of these cleaning gloves for good hygiene; disposable cloves, reusable gloves, rubber gloves, cleaning gloves.

Rubber gloves come handy when you work outside. If you have to remove wood and many other things which are dirty.

Washing equipment

If you do laundry washing in your cleaning business, you should have a washing machine. For a speedy production, you should use a washing machine.

Washing Machine

Let’s say you have 10 clients in a weekend who need their laundry to be washed, do you think you can attend them all in one weekend doing a manual washing? I don’t think so. But with the help of a washing machine, you can even serve 20 clients per day.

For a better production, you should opt for a washing machine. But when you are starting out, you can start doing manual laundry washing. We all have to start somewhere, so don’t be discouraged to start a cleaning business if you don’t have enough equipment, make use of what you have.

Vacuum Cleaner

A vacuum cleaner is another equipment that comes handy in floor cleaning. If the floor is covered in mats, a vacuum cleaner will make your life a lot easier. If you were to use only a broom, it will take for you to remove the hair on the mat. But that doesn’t mean the hair will go away, it will but after a lot extensive working.

The cleaning equipment is made to make our lives easier, so let’s make use of it for a productive service. The better your service, the more clients you will get.

Buckets

Buckets will help when you have to dispose water used for washing. In a case where a person doesn’t have much equipment, he or she will use a bucket for cleaning the floor with a mop and a bucket.

Cleaning Dryers

After washing, you need to dry the laundry. This is where cleaning dryers come in handy. You will need a drying rack so that you can hang your cloths you used while cleaning. You will also need a drying machine so that after washing, you dry the laundry.

While starting out, you can prefer to hang them outside for the sun to dry them. Hanging clothes outside does a much better job. In fact, I prefer this type of drying clothes since it is natural.

Cleaning Scrubbers

Scrubber systems (e.g. chemical scrubbers, gas scrubbers) are a diverse group of air pollution control devices that can be used to remove some particulates and/or gases from industrial exhaust streams.

In your cleaning business, you can buy some of these Scrubbing pad, Scrub sponge, Simple sponge, Steel wool and drilling brush scrubber

Cleansers & Disinfectants

Vinegar is one of the cleansers that can be used to remove dirt stains. It is good for deodorizing the surface area you are cleaning. Not only is that, but it also disinfects the surface area.

You need any of the following cleansers and disinfectants to run a successful cleaning business. You need Cleaning spray, Floor liquid, Laundry detergents, Dish washing liquid, and Bar keeping Friend

Dusters

On other occasions, you will find that the place is full of dust and you need dusters to remove that dust away. You will need a dusting pan to carry that dust away. You will also need a dustbin and feather duster. Equipment which removes dust is very helpful when starting a cleaning service business.

Wipers

The Squeege

Squeege is a tool that is good for wiping wet windows. Even in a case where a person wipes water droplets after taking a shower in a bathroom. That steam form water droplets on the walls, to wipe that water droplets, you can use a squeegee.

You can even use a squeegee to remove hair remains on beds, or blankets. You wet the rubber part of it and then stroke the dirt away.

Microfiber Cloth

Microfiber cloth is another major needed tool for cleaning. Here are the reasons why it is needed. Microfibers are non-scratching, you can use it to wipe your cellphone screen without scratching it. It doesn’t leave streaks behind while you clean using it. You can reuse them up to 500 times without replacement.

Shoe covers are used to protect the carpets you walk on so that you don’t drag dirt from outside. Goggle glasses help to protect your eyes from spays that may damage your eyes.

Disposable face musk

Disposable face musk are used to protect against dust, and pollution. They also protect against allergies from different cleaning products.

When you try to clean, you will find that the area you are trying to clean is too high for your height. You will need a step ladder to reach that surface. Sometimes having extra quick squeeze spraying bottles is advantageous. You can buy a cleaning disinfectants in a container which doesn’t spray, then pour it into a spray bottle for easy spraying.
